A word (or two) from Ed....

I have worked HARD just to get to this point. It was not an easy path I chose, nonetheless, it's the path I took. The Lord blessed me with opportunities, and with a gift to create, and I thank him, and strive to build on it every day. I have had some schooling in art, but for the most part, the things I know are from the HOURS of studying and practice I've put in to it on my own! It is not easy or a thing you can do here and there and get to be a somebody. I have found that you are only as good as your last project.

Let me also say, that I have worked many jobs in my life to help support my dream to build this studio! I have been a dishwasher, factory worker, hotel manager, grocery bagger, retail salesman, funiture mover, teaching assistant, newspaper D.M., car detailer, coach, lumber yard worker, dug ditches, shoveled horse poop, and so much more. I didn't come from money. Everything I have, was earned through hard work and discipline!  The one thing above all else I ALWAYS knew I was though, was an ARTIST!!!

I would work long hours doing these other things, and go right to my drawing table and get down to REAL work!! I didn't sleep much, but I wanted my dream to come true!!  It takes commitment and belief in yourself and your abilities to get the job done in ANYTHING you want.     If you are not willing to make sacrifices, or take criticism, then you will have a tough time making it in the art business.
I pride myself on my hard work, but I ALWAYS keep an open ear too. Thats how I learn, that's how I improve. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I have seen many kinds of people, young and old alike, try and fail. Not because they didn't have the talent, but because they didn't want to make the commitment to achieve. They wanted to be able to draw the Mona Lisa after one day. Sorry, but it just doesn't work that way.

Now, I understand that this all may sound gruff , but I'm just trying to tell you up front that it is like that out there in the competitive art biz.

If you want something bad enough, then you have GOT to get out there and get it!  Hopefully, you will have people around you that will support your efforts win or lose.  If not, so be it, do it for yourself then!
Unfortunately, I have seen too many fail at this because they let it go for someone or something else, or because they were afraid to fail.

WRONG,WRONG,WRONG.... You only have one life, so live it.
But hey, that's just how I see it. Others may shoot you a different story, and they are entitled to do so. Thats whats great about this land, that we can express ourselves that way.
Just take this with you as you finish reading this....

Don't EVER give up on your dreams!

Now get out there and get it!

Thanks for reading. I sincerely hope that you achieve your dream, I really do.
God Bless you all, and best of everything!!

A special thanks goes out to God for helping me learn tough lessons in life, I love him for it.And thanks all the people who have helped me in my life, and who have hurt me too. You made me tougher because of it.
